2020 Fred Scott Feline Symposium: We're Going Virtual!

mai 19, 2020

July 31 – August 2, 2020

As I am sure you are experiencing, the current COVID-19 crisis has affected all aspects of our lives, and I hope that this note finds you and yours healthy and safe.

Here at the Cornell Feline Health Center, we continue to provide education and support to cat lovers, researchers, and veterinary professionals, although we are doing this remotely in the interest of public health.

Unfortunately, social distancing recommendations that are necessary to slow the rate of transmission of Sars-Cov-2 virus, and an uncertainty regarding how long they will be in place, have forced us to make the hard decision to cancel meeting in-person for the 2020 Fred Scott Feline Symposium. This difficult decision was made in the interest of the health and well-being of attendees, speakers, and staff; and given our anticipation of greeting attendees and experts from near and far once again, this comes as a major disappointment for all of us here at the Center.

In spite of the fact that we cannot physically be together, though, we are still dedicated to providing you with the high-quality educational experience that the Symposium has become known for. With this in mind, we are happy to announce the 2020 VIRTUAL Fred Scott Feline Symposium. Nothing can take the place of gathering together to learn as we have done for many years, but we view this temporary new normal as an opportunity to think outside of the box. In taking advantage of the excellent technical capabilities of the College, we are confident that the 2020 Symposium will be enjoyable, informative, and engaging, as it always has been.

While specifics are currently being addressed, this year’s Symposium will provide 13 hours of continuing education credits, and digital proceedings will also be provided, as always.

We will provide updates regarding registration, how to tune in, and other news as soon as these become available on our event website

Best wishes to you and yours, and I truly look forward to seeing you back here in Ithaca as soon as possible.

Best,
Bruce
